Category: Let's talk
Saturday night, Scott and I went to Frisco and met up with Mary and her
husband Rich at their house. We cooked ribs, spicy corn, grilled zucchini,
and potatoe salad. After a fine meal, we headed to Dr. Pepper stadium there
in Frisco to see The Ruff Riders play baseball. They are one of the farm
league team for The Texas Rangers. We had founders club tickets from Mary's
office. They include a parking pass, a pass to get into the founders club
where they have a free full buffet, free drinks and you can sit in
air-conditioned luxury and watch the game. Our actual stadium seats were
right behind home plate, five rows from the front. We met up with more
friends at the ball park and had a great evening, got home and in bed around
1 in the a.m. Now for Sunday; we sleep in and take our time getting around,
I am thinking that later on in the evening Scott and I will get his Dad and
go for a bite to eat. Scott and I determine that we really need to go to
the grocery store as the cupboard is a bit bare. So, we take showers and
get ready. We head out and Scott says, I'm a bit hungry, lets stop in at
City Limits, our favorite local tavern, and I say fine. I'm trying to talk
him out of going to the grocery store all together and put it off until
today. So as we walk in, I'm still going on about how we'll be drinking
beer and I'll have to pea at the grocery store and we really shouldn't shop
after drinking. All of a sudden 27 people yell, Surprise!!!!My daughter
Emily is here from Waco, Mary and Rich, Scott's brother and wife from
Dallas, all my family and a bunch of friends. I had no clue, I just stood
there and screamed. My x husband and his wife were even there. We get
along great and I love him more now as a friend, and his wife is one of my
dearest friends. I was just stunned. So then the party began. I had
presents and a bunch to eat and drink. Here are the names of the birthday
shots I had, first was one called bend me over sideways, next was a shot of
Patron Tequila, next was a red headed slut and finally was one called
birthday cake. In between I had 6 gin and tonics. Man, it was so fun. I
got cool jewelry, slick ass martini glasses, martini glass earrings, cash,
more cash, wine, new cork screws and wine stopper. I can't even remember
all the goodies. The party moved to my house for those who wanted to watch
the Mavericks lose, I finally got to bed about 2. Scott and Emily really
pulled off a great party and I was just so pleased. So now it's Monday
evening and I am really going to the grocery store. I hope all had a great
weekend and a great Father's Day.
love,
cj
What an awesome surprise! Happy birthday CJ!
Wow! That is sooo cool. You are well loved by a lot of people and they know how to show it. You are very lucky.
Thanks for sharing your awsome weekend with us, and may the rest of the year be just as pleasant and as full of good surprises.
That's a great story Carla. All to often surprises aren't really surprises at all because for one reason or another the surprisee cottains on to what's happening. It sounds in this instance though as though they really got you good! lol. Glad you had such a good birthday weekend.
Wow, impressive, happy birthday and you're really raising the bar for guys on here who have girl friends/wives <grin> it's hard to top this one.
cheers

Hey, CJ, it was my birthday too this weekend *smile*. I'm glad you had a good one; I had a great one as well. My baby whisked me away to Charleston, and we had a really great time strolling through the romantic old city, eating at a restaurant where they have a live piano player, and testing the beaches. I couldn't have wished for a nicer birthday *smile*.
Oh, and B, you silly bugger, it's not a competition, but if it were, to me you always win hands down.
